Ski Beach

A few entertaining enjoyments close by include Stockton’s Ski Beach and Hog Island. While Hog Island is appropriate for all ages, Ski Beach (just across the channel from Windmill Cove) is better left to the 21 and older crowd with the loud, most often explicit music, alcohol and bikini clad women. Whether you want to catch some rays, meet up with friends for a few drinks or just head out to meet new friends on the water – Ski Beach is an awesomely crazy place!

Hog Island

Hog Island, known the last few years by all Delta Rats for the pigs that were released there originally to help with the overgrown vegetation problem on the island, is a must-see experience! Make sure to bring out some fruits and veggies to feed the piggies! These are BIG adult pigs with 2-7 babies at any given time during the year. Be aware however that the adult pigs do SWIM and have been known to try to get in the boats. I have never heard of any injuries but obviously don’t let your kids feed the wild animals directly from their hands. Simply toss apples, carrots, etc towards the shore and they will go running after it. These pigs are also keen on beer, burgers and Sunny D but we all prefer to have them live long, happy lives so fruits and veggies or anything more natural is suggested.
